Dear Rutland Families and Caregivers,

I am honored to write to you as the new Superintendent of Rutland City Public Schools. As I begin this role, I want you to know how excited I am to work together with you to support the success and well-being of every child in our community.

Strong schools are built on strong partnerships with families, educators, staff, and the entire community. Your voice matters, and I look forward to listening, learning, and working together. You know your children best, and your ideas and feedback are important to me.

Our students are supported each day by many caring adults—teachers, paraeducators, bus drivers, food service workers, office staff, custodians, coaches, counselors, administrators, volunteers, and more. I want to thank each and every person who plays a part in helping our students learn, grow, and feel safe and valued.

As a district, we are committed to our strategic plan. Our focus includes three main goals:

  • Teaching and Learning: Making sure every student gets a strong education that challenges and inspires them.

  • Wellness: Supporting students and staff socially, emotionally, and physically as we adapt to their needs.

  • Resources: Using our time, people, and funding wisely to best support student learning and success.

Students deserve high-quality instruction in a welcoming environment where they feel respected and encouraged to achieve success. Every child should be seen, heard, and supported as they grow into confident learners and citizens.

As we move through the summer and prepare for a new school year, I look forward to meeting many of you—at events, in schools, or around town. Together, we will continue to make Rutland City Public Schools a place where every student can thrive.

With gratitude and partnership,

Pam Reed

Superintendent
Rutland City Public Schools
