Rutland Public Schools Foundation
Mission
The mission of the Rutland Public Schools Foundation (RPSF) is to generate and distribute scholarship funds for the benefit of Rutland High School and Stafford Technical Center graduates. It maintains an endowment for that purpose and all donations and investment income must be used for purposes that benefit the school system graduates.
The foundation's Board of Directors also recognizes there may be additional reasons in the future to undertake capital raising efforts for the benefit of the Rutland Public School system. The artificial turf at Alumni Field is an example of local fund raising efforts achieved before RPSF was founded.
History
RPSF began at the behest of Rutland Public Schools. The school district has a policy of solely investing in interest bearing investments and wanted the trust funds to generate higher returns, which stocks and bonds historically offer. RPS transferred its trust funds to RPSF, a 501c3, in 2017 which in turn has invested with Vanguard Investments.
